Irv Brown's last show
Irv and Joe’s broadcast Thursday was the last show that Irv and Joe did together on Mile High Sports radio. It was a show to honor Irv Brown who is a radio legend here in Denver Sports radio. The broadcast started out with a very familiar voice in Denver Sports radio Dave Logan. He was on with Irv and Joe for a half an hour. Irv and Joe gave Dave Logan his first start in radio. Dave shared a couple of stories about when the 3 of them worked together. Former guests of the show called in to wish Irv good luck. A former coach of the CU Buffalos called in Bill Macartney. Everybody had wonderful stories, and very touching things to say about Irv Brown. The last highlight of the show was when Hal Moore stopping by the show. Hal is still doing radio on 1510, and 93.7 on the weekends. It was a very successful send off to Irv Brown.Good luck Irv. I really enjoyed listening to you since 1997. I first remember the broadcasts that you did at the Black Eyed Pea. A second memory I have is whenever I would visit my friends Walter and Ted Johnson. I would always ask have you heard from Irv and Joe? Ted Johnson would come on with them to talk about horse racing and other sports topics. The last memory I have is when Irv and Joe were on 950 the fan. I was home from school not feeling well. I tuned in that day to hear Irv and Joe. Sandy Clough was substituting for Joe, and I really thought Irv and Sandy did a great job working together. Irv and Sandy put together a gentler form of sports radio back then. A lot of callers are not use to that style. Thanks for tuning in.Jeremy Levy
Irv Brown Retiring!
After 30 plus years in Denver Sports radio Irv Brown of the IRV and Joe show is retiring today. Irv has been a great radio talk show host in my opinion. I really enjoyed his show with Joe Williams. I first started listening to Irv back in 1997, and have followed his show on several radio stations. The Denver post reports that Joe will continue with the show after Irv’s departure. Irv has been suffering with some back issues. Good luck to Irv Brown! Thanks for tuning in.Jeremy Levy
